Why was #FoodHeroScot platform created?

When Covid-19 struck, Mediaciously and its partners were overwhelmed by the resilience and community spirit that the Scottish Food & Drink sector had shown, and they wanted to do something to celebrate this and champion a sustainable industry recovery.

When will #FoodHeroScot campaign be launched?

On 1 June 2021, Medialiciously and its partners will launch a dynamic new visual storytelling campaign #FoodHeroScot, creating a platform for Food & Drink businesses in Scotland.

How long will the campaign run for?

The campaign will run for a minimum of 12 months, but it aims to leave a lasting legacy to inspire businesses in the Food & Drink sector to become more sustainable in the future.

Who are the founders of #FoodHeroScot?

Lee Fitzpatrick, Moh Al-Haifi, and Tal Imam from Mediaciously are a team of creative strategists driving the campaign. They share a passion for cooking, storytelling sustainability and marketing. Food and Drink is their language, and they founded their business to tell the stories of environmentally and socially conscious Food and Drink brands.

What are the #FoodHeroScot campaign key objectives?
  1. Shed light on the brilliant community and sustainability work of Food & Drink heroes
    Raise awareness and give brands that serve their community the recognition and attention they deserve
  2. Encourage other F&D players to become their local #FoodHeroScot and use their business as a force for good
  3. Celebrate all stages of the supply chain, from farm to table, and all the industries in between
  4. Total prize package of over £250,000 offered in services and reach. Each winning brand will receive a support package worth more than £25,000.
Who is funding the #FoodHeroScot campaign?

This campaign is a non-profit visual storytelling campaign. Any future revenue made through sponsorships of future business models will purely serve the purpose of the campaign.

The campaign is supported by STV’s £1M Green Fund that aims to champion the efforts of sustainable Scottish SME businesses by raising their profile to consumers, whilst encouraging a lower carbon footprint or giving back to their community. STV Green Fund– STV has outlined an ambitious new sustainability strategy -STV Zero – to reduce its environmental impact to become net-zero carbon by 2030 and carbon-neutral by the end of 2021. To mark the launch of the new strategy, STV has unveiled a £1m Green Fund, offering advertising support from Scottish businesses providing sustainable products and services as an extension of their £20m Growth Fund.

How is the #FoodHeroScot campaign going to be delivered?

The core of the campaign is focused on visual storytelling and #FHS will tell the powerful stories of businesses, social enterprises, or charities in the sector.

Ten short mini-documentaries will be shared on the campaign website and amplified through partners, ecosystem, adverts, PR, and STV. There will be three nomination and voting phases to encourage a fair and viral competition process.

What is the #FoodHeroScot Directory?

The platform will allow businesses in the Food and Drink sector that are positively contributing to their community, environment, or society to showcase their impact and engage with an environmentally conscious audience through a directory style website. www.foodheroscot.co.uk

What is the timeline of the nomination and voting phases and when will the wining brands get announced?

NOMINATION: 1st June – 30th June (1 month in total)

VOTING: 1st July – 31st July (1 month in total)

Phase B

NOMINATION: 1st August – 30th September  (2 months in total)

VOTING: 1st October – 31st October (1 month in total)

Phase C
